Is this normal , i.e. To see the 2nd and 3rd Drive duplicated, in Windows 10?

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

As you can see under This PC one can see the Intel C: drive
And then in the same line the D: & E: drives. ( the Toshiba and Samsung ) - as one would expect to see them.

BUT then indented to the left the D: and E: drives are replicated. ( they are the same drives, tested to see the same content ).

One person at Microsoft said it was a know "feature", that a few people had complained about it.
He said it was something to do with getting quick access to removeable drives? Maybe he is right as when you click the remove USB drives one now has the option to remove these additional drives, just like you would say a USB stick.

But another Microsoft support person said she had never seen that, but "most people only have one disk"!

If it is normal to see this, then hey I will leave it, as much as I think its crazy.

1. Press WIN+R to open the RUN dialog box, type regedit and press enter, it'll open the registry editor.

2. Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders

3. Under "DelegateFolders" key, you'll find {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}

4. delete the {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} key and it'll immediately remove the duplicate drive icons from the "This PC" Pane.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Thanks so much
But is it working properly i.e. should show this as on my screen in standard Windows 10?

I assume this is editing the windows registry?

When you say "delete the {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} key"

Do I just highlight >>> {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} <<< and press delete?

Sorry for asking the obvious, but editing the registry makes me well nervous. :)

I assume if a later release or Windows update relied on / needed this key, if I reloaded windows it all comes back, i.e. it doesn't mess with the Bios or anything.

Sounds like you don't know much about the registry so you might start by going to File > Export and do a full backup of the registry. To delete a registry key, highlight and then right click and "Delete" will be one of your options. BUT, note first that "Export" is also an available option. I would do that first, save the file somewhere readily accessible, and then do the delete action. This backs up just the key you are interested in deleting. Then if you get strange behavior you can just click the file you exported (it will end in "reg") and it will be imported back into the registry.

By the way, the registry editor doesn't have a File > Save type of operation. When you select File > Exit it is automatically saved.
