At the Frog Pond today

I had heard about this male Wood Duck that hangs around a place called The Frog Pond in Halifax. He also has a honey, and is seldom more than 2 or 3 feet away from her, but she's not a female Wood Duck, she's a female Black Duck! They're a cute couple, but he really stands out....

He is the fairest in the land. I wonder if they ever get together. I have seen a pintail- mallard hybrid down here. Would be interesting although I prefer the originals

I think they do Bob, someone on our Birding site said Wood ducks cross with many different breeds :) This guy is actually very young, just received his final adult colours recently. Pics of him in November still had him in juvie colours.
