Check out the nissin i40. I use it on the a7rii but will work the same on the 6300 (I'm actually planning to use mine more on the a6300). It's got ETTL, HSS and a good guide number for its size

I would get this flash instead of nissin i40.

I have the bigger brother http://www.godox.com …_Camera_Flash_V860II.html (external link) for my a7RII, but will be buying the two smaller TT350S as well.

I have recently ditched the 5d3 (and a couple lenses) and picked up a very small a6500 kit. Particularly for the portability as I has all but stopped taking the bigger camera rig with me anywhere. While a wonderful lens, I'm finding 50mm (equivalent to 75mm on the crop body) not quite adequate for what I used the 85mm on the 5d3. I just picked up another EF 85 1.8 through the POTN classified section. It's waiting for me at home today. (I knew I would regret selling mine!!). As a significantly less expensive alternative to the Metabones (1/2 the price) I picked up a sigma MC-11. This adapter has been getting great reviews and works with a lot of EF lenses, the 85 1.8 being one of them. I'll update in the next few days as to what my experience is. If it works out that might be a way to save a few bucks. I picked mine up for $175 like new in box.

PS. I understand that excitement. I too haven't been this excited about photography gear in quite some time!

I looked at that Sigma MC-11 but am unsure if it works on the 24-70 II and the 70-200 2.8IS II...My 85 is the Tamron 1.8 VC SP and my ultrawide is a Sigma....such a mixed bag, just didn't think it would work.
Yeah, I guess that 50, being 75mm FOV wouldn't be able to replace that 85...The DOF is off with these crop bodies, plus it's 10mm's longer.
Folks were talking about it being the best native portrait e-mount. If I can get my 70-200 to AF with any consistency, that will solve the rest of my range.

Thanks Nekrosoft, I'll check it out...I need a couple and a commander unit for the hot shoe.

I received my 16-70 and 10-18 today...Both are fantastic so far, AF is snappy, sharp zoomed in, bokeh and build are nice and again...Holy cow, they're so small, love the size..
I'll post some shots when I have more than "sample shots"

Cheers

Yeah, my favorite m lens was the 11-22, one of my favorite EF lenses was the Sigma 12-24 II, can't wait to get the 10-18 up in the mountains...

I ordered the Godox TT350s Flash and the x1t-s Trigger...If they workout out I'll grab a couple more flasheads for more off camera..
Just got my 50/1.8OSS....Sharp little thing...great on the charts, I'll go shoot it outside later...

Well, over the last few days I've learned a lot...Also received my 55mm/1.8 and Metabones T mk IV.
The Metabones works better than I thought it would, nearly perfect with my 24-70/2.8mkII, 70-200/2.8IS mkII, Tamron SP 85/1.8VC and Sigma 12-24 II...It seems the best AF set up with the quickest response (like OEM fast) was AF-C with Center or Wide zone, got it out of single shot to low, mid or high to eliminate blackout and was off and flying.... Just made sure I updated the firmware and kept it in Green Mode.....Awesome! Now I can feel confident buying the a7rII knowing I can use my Canon and Sony lenses...Very cool.

Here's a few with all my lenses, nothing special as I was just walking around the house testing. 1st is my 55/1.8 Sonnar...Really nice, VERY SHARP wide open! I didn't have anything decent to post with my 24-70 as I was just snapping many random shots at different distances.

Hey thatkatmat....Have you had a chance to mess around with you Godox gear? I'm wondering if you can change the flash settings of the TT350s when used off camera (or any of the other Godox flashes for that matter) via the x1t-s Trigger that is mounted on the camera??

I'd also be interested to know your thoughts on how skin tone colors are being rendered when using a flash set up indoors. I'm having real mixed results with the a6500 and flash. It's never perfect. Oftentimes skin tones have a strong yellow or purple/magenta cast. The last two nights were particularly bad. If fact, I'm tossing all shots. No matter how hard I try I cannot get skin tones right. It's getting a little ridiculous. I am shooting RAW. It should't be that hard correct.
Thanks

My Godox gear is still on the way here...Shipping is taking forever from China...To be expected though...I should have it next week sometime...doesn't help now I guess :) ...Tried Fred Miranda Sony forum? You should be able to change the settings from the Trigger...Maybe you'll figure it out before I get mine...
Yikes.."Tossing all shots"

Good luck and keep us informed...maybe I'll poke around a bit when I get off too...
Cheers

Just got my x1t-s Trigger and TT350s and am getting a couple 685s's this afternoon...I will probably crash course them tonight and see if I can get them to play nice.
In the mean time, here's a shot from last weekends hike. using my 6300 and kit PZ, which ain't half bad for hiking...Light, reasonably sharp and easy to use with gloves.

So, to change the settings...(you mean like for flash compensation + or - ?)
Yes, you just short press the GR button and the selected group will blink...just move the dial up or down for + or -. Then hit ch/ok to set it. Works perfect.
I haven't shot people yet...just the godox boxes...ha ha

I'm just getting to know my new a6300 and would like to share 2 images from today.
The first is my dog taken with the Sony 16-70 in very low light, using the ISO Auto that takes a bunch of images. Pretty impressed so far!
