My last image of Jupiter was Sept 30th, 2010 . Some are trying to get images of Jupiter , some have succeeded and I congratulate those that have . Hopefully this will inspire some to use their scopes once again and capture other nice images of Jupiter this season . Not only is it fun to image but to observe and watch transits of the 4 moons and if your lucky see the shadows of some transits from the moons crossing the face of Jupiter . Good luck and post what you can ! Enjoy !

Thanks Davenn ! About the banding missing that's been a while and hard to remember but that particular night as the GRS was coming into rotation that band was extremely hard to see and from the brightness of Jupiter was a factor of properly collecting data in the image . I was using a tele-extender attached to my C8 with a 12mm EP with the XSi and trying to focus looking through the viewer is extremely hard to do and I was very lucky I got this good of focus .

I remember now about it being a factor and a discussion among astronomers for quite some time . Was it during this time that another smaller GRS started appearing ?
