When you are in the field shooting tethered, finding a safe spot to lay your laptop can be tough. This kit solves the problem. The Gitzo platform is about 13X16 inches and has a 3/8" tread on the bottom so it can be fitted to any Gitzo and other tripods. This kit includes the Gitzo G1198 4-section basalt tripod. Collapsed it is about 16" so it is easy to carry around. Legs only extended it is about 38" and with the column at full rise is is four feet, giving great range for the position of your laptop.
