So I was asked last minute to do an engagement shoot for a friend. Little time to prepare, and little experience in all honesty but I agreed. Only had my 24-70 and needed to shoot loose to allow space for text at the top of the wedding invite. I've included before and after shots for reference, I can't change the composition or aspect ratio too much as this is what she has requested to suit her invitation cards.

The bride-to-be wanted a green feel to the image but it's the wrong time of year, just wanted to get some opinions on the image and maybe some advice for what I can do differently. She wants it light and fun, but not too soft.

If you look very closely, you can tell it's not quite natural. But I think you did a VERY good job on the edit. I came in and looked at the photo before reading the text. Until I got to the original photo, I had no idea it that it wasn't the natural colors.

Those are cool trees. Any idea on what kind they are? I'm seeing too much saturation in the greens, but could be my monitor, and if it is just for an invitation with text on it, I think people will like it.

The girls legs picked up a lot of color from the sides of the road, so you could use a mask and paint that back out.

I think she's going to like them :)

My junk
The grass isn't greener on the other side, it's green where you water it.

Wow I did not expect such a positive set of comments, thanks everyone!

Yes I did notice the leg too, so I've fixed that up, there are a few colour artefacts around too, I basically messed around with the hues of the yellow and green channels until I got the green I was looking for and then tried to warm up the image as the bride and groom to be both looked very blue..

No idea on the type of tree unfortunately, I'll ask around and see if anyone local knows. It's quite a cliche'd area to shoot in.

I looked at the green photo first without reading the description and couldn't tell that the color was changed.

The greens look perfect on my iPad. My laptop must suck and it has a calibrated profile. Lol

I agree, not seeing the second photo...I couldn't really tell it wasn't supposed to be that way. Nicely done!

If this were my shot, I would fade the saturation and contrast toward the distant arch. This would affect both the trees and the shoulders of the road. Maybe a tiny, tiny amount of blur as well (compare w/ the original).

I would probably also remove the distant trees behind their heads.

Good luck with your project.

My thoughts exactly...I am quite drawn the over saturated trees at the end of the view...But great job over all.

^^ This, very good edit.. only nit is maybe the grass? but it may not look natural if you try to fix it, so go with what you have, blur the far away a bit more and call it good.

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.

The green might be just a tad over-saturated but I like it.

Thanks everyone for the tips, I'll have a look at those trees down at the end. I've shown the bride to be and she is really happy with it, especially as she knew it was an impromptu shoot.
