My mirrorless system is a max of ~5-6 lbs with heaviest lens.

I have no first hand info on that particular head. For a small mirrorless kit though, I agree that you don't need too much heft in a ballhead. Sirui K10 or 20 at the most. What legs are you using?

I found traditional ball heads cumbersome because of the numerous controls and their sometimes non-ergonomic placements.

For ease of use coupled with solidity and the ability to lock things into place without shifting the camera position when tightening things down, I settled on the Arca Swiss P0.

Put a levered quick release on top (like a RRS) and you've got one of the quickest and most stable heads of any I'm aware of.

I usually keep my left hand wrapped around the release-tighten mechanism and my right hand on the camera grip and shutter. Then all I need to do is move my left wrist just slightly to loosen or tighten the head for the desired friction.. If I'm shooting auto focus, I never have to move my hands. If it's manual, I can lock the camera in position or set the amount of friction with a slight move of my left hand, and then just slide my hand up a bit to the lens focus ring.

Couldn't be simpler or easier to use.

edit: Plus, having my left hand wrapped around the ball head I find gives more stability and less camera shake than holding a traditional tensioning knob with my fingers.

I've used DB-40 with Desmond legs and had no issues at all. Smooth and held my 5D mark III with 70-200 like its nothing..

It's been my experience that Sirui K30s eventually bind up and you'll send them back for replacement.

I'm on my 3rd one.
