Well being 65 people have looked and no on has commented I will go ahead :). I am by far an expert but here is my 2 cents

First off welcome!

1. Just not very interesting and you cut off the top of the minions head
2. Is prob my fav of the bunch. I like the sun in the logo.
3. To dark and really not sure what the focal point is
4. Seems flat and colors seem dull. I would try to boost the contract and maybe crop more of the sky out? I am not great with landscape, but something just seems to be missing here.

I have spent a lot of time on the forum learning from others (and still learning). Keep on shooting and you will only get better!

I agree with Jessi. The first one is nicely exposed but there just isn't anything there for me.

I like #4 but would like to see more of the star trails.

Hello,

Here is my opinion:
The first three are snapshots in my mind. Technically speaking:

1) The suns reflection off the car is a little to strong and detracts from the subject of the photo. As you mentioned, framing could be better and include the top of his head.

2) Similar to my first point of the first shot, the lightest areas of a photo always draw the eye first. You want the viewer to go straight to the subject. This isn't always true, sometimes you want viewers eyes to make their way through all phases of the photo before getting to the main subject (landscape photography comes to mind). The overall exposure of the image is good and you did well on the focus.

3) Mentioned previously, but the entire photo is underexposed. Shadows need lifting probably as well.

4) This is my favorite of the bunch, but I am biased as I enjoy landscape photography the most. I like the amount of trailing that was done. Seems to fit the photo to me. I think you should actually crop out some of the sky on top. Also, there are two ways to go about this photo. (1) I think the treetops in the foreground are distracting, since they are cut off. I would either eliminate them or (2) pan down and find an interesting foreground to give the entire image a good foreground, midground (mountains), and backdrop (sky).

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, gives me something to work on cause in my opinion i was happy with them haha. Most of my photography centres around automobiles or low light landscape. Being a long haul trucker gives me some great views. You all brought up some valid points that i never even considered.

Keep in mind that the subjects that excite you may not excite others. Abstract shots of parts of cars is one of those things you either love or don't.

To be honest...if you like them, that's all that really matters.

true unless there is some greater goal. The first three look like marketing type shots, or shots that are supposed to be keepsakes for the car owners. If that is the case, it changes the equation.

last shot is getting toward nice, would like to see longer trails especially since, looking at the framing, that is the apparent focus of the shot.

Couple of observations Kevin. They are not bad shots, I take worse ones regularly (LOL). But I think you have some issues that with effort can be overcome.
Look into Framing a little more. The minion shot would have been kind of cool due to where it is (on the car) if you were able to get the entire subject in the image.
The other shots are high contrast shots. If you could do a HDR'ish shot with properly exposed shots for the brights and the darks, you could have some really good shots in the middle two.
The long exposure (star trails) might also benefit by doing some multiple exposures for the foreground, middle ground and the stars themselves. It just depends on your comfort level and processing efforts and how comfortable you are with working with layers or HDR.
I would kind of love to be in your position as a LH trucker. The things you must see on the road would be amazing to me. I kind of envy you sir.
