This is how I remember the difference. (Black bill = Snowy Egret, Yellow bill = Great Egret.)

I only get to see them once or twice a year.
I will remember black bill= snowy

And Yellow Socks = Snowy
Plus Great Egrets are MUCH larger. Or, Snowy Egrets are MUCH smaller

Don't forget the white morph of the great blue heron. Not a factor unless you are near the keys or the very southern coast of Fl.
