I think Fujirumors has suggested such a lens may be in the pipeline. I think after the 35mm f/2, Fuji is considering more lenses that are smaller and slower than their current offerings.

Not sure why they can't make something like Canon's EF-M 22mm f/2. That would be a killer lens, imo.

Maybe that's what they will be targeting. It would be pretty sweet if they did. I appreciate the improvement of the 35 f/2 in terms of AF speed and WR, but really it's not much smaller or lighter than the f/1.4. Hopefully their "smaller" options will really go for it in the same way as the 18 f/2. I'd sure like a smaller lens in the 60-90mm range too.

Yea if you want small and wide the 2/18 is great, plenty sharp and good AF

I'll have to admit the 18-55mm kit lens is very good. The price of my fuji kit is like buying a new 135L.

I still cannot imagine selling off my Canon gear for Fuji. As a secondary system I really like it so far. The size of my XT10 is like my Oly E-M5 so it's quite small.

I've been using Micro 4/3 for many years now. For stills and small form factor and budget in mind the fuji is a nice system. The price of the Panasonic GX8 I paid less and bought my Fuji XT10 with 18-55 kit lens. The image quality and high iso is without a doubt a huge step vs panny. The aprox $1000 panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 OIS lens and Olympus E-M5 cannot even come close to my newly acquired XT10 and stabilized kit lens.
The GX8 wouldn't have a substantial increase in IQ over my older M43 body.

Since I will always use Canon my secondary system is an incredible supplement to the photography gear I own.

I've already decided on a near future wishlist to go for a 16mm f/1.4, 56 f/1.2 and 10-24mm f/4 and possibly the 14 f/2.8. For a quick fix I may just pickup an 18mm f/2.

Even though the fuji has less selection of lenses it will cover my style and needs with much higher IQ than my former E-m5 and panny Gh3.

The beautiful thing about the fuji line is that when the Xpro2 drops in price that'll be a fantastic body with any fuji lens you currently own.

At this moment I will be happy with my secondary system...i guess third since I own M43 as well LOL!!

The great thing about a fuji secondary systems is that it's somewhat reasonable in price. This leave $$ for a new fresh Canon body for my primary system. Win win!!

True. I gotta say though, for some reason it's been way less accurate than my other lenses when using zone focusing

I'm thinking it could be my lens though, it's not in the best condition... but I got it for $200 so I'm not really complaining.

I've really been analyzing my experience so far with my fuji gear.

As a secondary system I'm really thinking hard in selecting my lenses.

I'll have to say the 18-55 kit lens is really making me think Fuji made a mistake. The image quality is absolutely incredible. Without a doubt anyone owning a canon 17-40 f/4 or 24-70L mk1 wouldn't believe it's a fuji kit lens. If anyone compared a Canon crop sensor 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 STM the difference is substantial.

After running LR6 with the images I took with the fuji 18-55 I'm not tempted to buy a constant f/2.8 zoom just yet for my casual use of this fuji system.

Since you own a Canon 24Lmk2 I think you'd really appreciate the fuji 16mm f/1.4. The 16mpx Fuji XT10 with 16mm f/1.4 makes has less micro contrast than the Canon 24Lmk2 however the IQ is better than the 24Lmk1. The cost of the 16mm lens is cheaper than a 24Lmk2 and for a casual camera setup I CANNOT complain A person shooting fuji only (and never used a 5dmk2/3 with 24Lmk2) would be incredibly happy. I know I am missing something shooting the 16mm / fuji combo vs my Canon full frame/24Lmk2 but the price difference is HUGE. The 16mm is killer awesome for a fraction of the price!!!

I'm really enjoying the having a small form factor fuji and how it simply lands the shots for my family documentation. This is something my contrast detect Olympus e-m5 and GH3 seems to miss. The Fuji AF I'm using with my camera is adequate for my application. I can never sell my canon for this system for events photography. In a pinch I bet i could buy a 56 f/1.2 and use my fuji for a secondary supplemental camera.

The colour rendition even when using the Xrite passport still seems to be rich. I'll easily say there is something special about fuji colour even when I run my colour calibration process. Panasonic and Olympus micro 4/3 seems very different and somewhat lacking sooc and even after processing.

The interesting thing about my "Fuji" purchase was it really came down to realistic expectations.

It all comes down to preference and personal comfort in using the gear for intended application. Yes I shoot Canon gear and I appreciate what I can get out of the gear with full confidence due to familiarity.

Did I think about sony?? yes..... why did I buy a mirrorless Fuji? I want to see what it can do without simply reading about it. Will I buy Sony?? ya probably but since I own Canon gear I'm ok to have a versatile fuji setup.

Micro 4/3 gear has improved drastically in 4k video and bells and whistles. The sensor size will always be "micro 4/3" and the technology in 2016 still has not drastically improved the new 20mpx sensor over the older 16mpx. In good light the M43 with higher end lenses is potent in image quality However at the end of the day light will hide This is where the high iso demands start to have raw files falling apart. This is not new news nor is it me bashing M43. I still do own my gh3 for a video rig for family documentation. Latest Panasonic M43 bodies have "DFD" so it's their version of a very good accurate contrast detection AF system. Olympus has their EM1 body with hybrid AF so that's pretty accurate too. However many M43 still has "normal" contrast detect and that is what I feel one of the Achilles' heel of the M43 system. The newest Olympus Pen F has only contrast detect which is a HUH?? reaction when I heard of this.

Fuji is methodically pricing camera's and lenses in an intelligent way. It's not cheap but majority of all the lenses are excellent! The 16mm f/1.4 is still spendy but it's still and incredible value as far as obtainable image quality. Basically a person buying a modest fuji combo of XT10/XE2 with 16mm f/1.4 will be about the same price as a 24L mk2 lens. From enthusiastic shooters to even picky pro's I cannot see an individual mocking the image quality from a 16mpx fuji Raw file with a fuji camera and lens. Be warned high iso skin texture may be plastic with jpg photos.

I've spoken to many of my friends that are in the camera resale sector. They've seen majority of their M43 customers buying fuji and Sony mirrorless small form factor camera's.

My panasonic gh3 (16 mpx sensor) with 12-35 cost approximately just under $2000 at the time of purchase. The fuji Xt10 with kit lens is about $700 cheaper and I'll admit the image quality and iso performance is definitely noticeably better.

For my fuji setup I only have a 18-55 kit lens and 16mm f/1.4. That alone will cover majority of my "out and about" needs for family documentation. I'll pick up stuff slowly to improve my fuji kit. This type of gear fits my needs at a great price point. My fuji kit lens give me higher quality images from the $1000 12-35mm panasonic M43 f/2.8 zoom. This is the type of thoughts that roll in my mind.

So is Fuji the best??? good question that only the photographer can answer Do I want an A7Rmk2 with 25mm f/2 Batis prime?? Yes!!! Will my modest fuji with 16mm f/1.4 with beautiful bokeh and wonderful micro contrast serve me well?? For facebook, emails, prints....YES absolutely. Down the road it's easy to buy a higher end Fuji Xpro2 if you have a bag of extremely high quality fuji lenses. However you can say the same for other manufacturers.

How you liking the X-T10?

Today I've put my X-T10 to the test and it failed me. I've yet to test a Xpro2 but the AF system in the X-T10 just does not meet my standards for events photography. The Lag is simply slow for the style I shoot. Even my aging Canon 5dmk2 using center focus is lighting fast and I do not miss moments in capturing expression. Even though the X-T10, XE2 is suppose to be an improvement I still think it's lethargic.

I do not have a big lens selection since I just bought this camera less than a week ago. The 16mm f/1.4 is relatively fast in AF but still the body driving the lens still needs improvements.

Battery life was not something I appreciate. I tried to use the EVF only to conserve battery power but that was still not much of an improvement. I had to grab my spare battery in relatively short duration of time of shooting.

However in most casual settings the fuji's AF is "good enough" but I still think the focus points even at it's smallest settings is not small enough for precision.

IQ wise I'm pleased to say it gives me more confidence compared to my M43 Raw files.

I sure hope the Xpo2 is substantially faster in AF. At this moment in time the X-T10 is great for my secondary system but no way can it replace my Canon system.

What events are you shooting that the Fuji failed you? It is a different shooting experience alright but I haven't really found it incapable of shooting anything that the 5D3 does, gigs, weddings, portraits, commercial... I find the Fuji system copes well enough for all. I have yet to try motorbike racing or alike but I'll need a longer lens for that one.

I've invested in the Fuji system strictly for casual application as a small form factor system. I do enjoy the Fuji since it is capable of some low light shooting.

I'll slowly be incorporating more lenses to my fuji gearbag.

The X-T10 was introduced in 2015. The Xe2 with latest firmware now allows E shutter and "faster" AF. The X-T10 probably has slower lag time than my Canon Xti i purchased in 2006. For events photography I would need to step upto a Xpro2 for the focus point joystick.

What did the fuji fail in? As a "TESTING field" for a casual child's Easter party I brought my older Canon 5d2 with 16-35Lmk2 & 24-70Lmk2, Fuji X-T10 w/ 18-55 & 16mm f/1.4 and my Panasonic Gh3 w/ 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom. Kids running in the large yard with hidden eggs it was painful to use the Fuji. I've never experienced such a poor AF system in years. The Panasonic was being used as a video rig. I had to grab my Canon even though it's a clunky 5d2 AF system it destroys the fuji in center focus speed.

Indoors the Fuji did much better but even documenting the expressions of the adults attending I found the center focus of the fuji to be a fraction of a second too slow. When I grabbed my Canon it simply provided me a very high percentage of photos and did not miss a beat.

The fuji failed for me in the battery capacity department. I knew this from day one but as I've been testing it I've found that I'd be monitoring the battery level alot more than my Canon. This is not a big deal but I bought another battery and had it in my pocket. Of course the group shot I did the camera died the moment I finished organizing and posing the large group of kids...LOL!!!!

The Panny Gh3 would have acquired the AF much faster but it does not meet my IQ demands. The Fuji produced a much more beautiful Raw file that is absolutely fantastic for a crop sensor.

I'll have to say I've been incredibly surprised and pleased with the fuji camera system. Spending just over $2000 I got a X-T10 with awesome 18-55 kit lens and 24mm equivalent (16mm f/1.4). My next fuji lens will be the 56 f/1.2. I'll wait for a UWA f/2.8 lens unless the fuji bodies suddenly improve high iso to 5d3 levels I'll buy the f/4 UWA lens. Maybe a cheap 27mm pancake in the next couple of weeks. As a secondary system I'm fine with my current 2 lenses.

I just purchased a bolt on grip to make the camera more comfortable. I'd rather pay 30 bucks for a larger bolt on hand grip for my X-T10 instead of buying the XT1 with an extra dial and larger EVF for an extra aprox $300. If the internals were dramatically different in the XT1 I would have happily paid more.....since they are virtually identical I don't mind having a "lacking" weaterproof body for my casual secondary system.

If I was to drop my canon gear the Fuji would need to match the 5d3 in high iso performance. This is where others would look more into the Sony A7Rmk2 system.

With the spider holster I can lug the Canon gear effortlessly so I dont think I'll jump to sony just yet.

Love the X-T10. I've shot 2 "events" with it - a guest speaker presentation at work and a family member's retirement party. All I used was the X-T10 and 35mm 1.4, as that's really the only lens I have for Fuji that would be suitable for low light. The 35mm 1.4 is probably a slower-performing lens in the Fuji lineup now.

I thought performance was fine for what I shoot. I also like to catch more spontaneous "candid" type shots than posed/staged shots. The eye-detect AF was pretty useful for this. What I particularly like about using Fuji X cameras for these things is people tend not to pose for me (which I like). If I have my Canon 6D and 24-70, if people see me they feel obligated to stop and pose/smile, and I really hate those type of shots (unless the situation calls for it). If people seem me roaming around with that Fuji, they just kind of leave me alone and usually don't know I took the shot. So for that purpose I love it.

That being said without a doubt I lose more shots with the X-T10 than the Canon 6D/ 24-70ii combination. In fact using the 6d's center point with that lens, I can't really think of times I miss shots due to poor AF. It's basically boom-boom with that camera, and it's my go-to for events.

But I came from an X100s, so the X-T10 is a huge huge upgrade from that. The X100s was just flat out not reliable for me for shooting events. AF was slower, and sometimes just seemed to miss altogether.

Of course, I very rarely do paid stuff so my demands on equipment is a lot lower than a full-time pro. If someone asked me to shoot a wedding, I'd have no qualms about using the X-T10 but only if they agreed to let me shoot in a more documentary style, and I could afford to lose some shots here and there. If someone asked me to shoot in a more traditional style where certain shots must be taken, I'd definitely take my 6D.

I'm really diggin' the Fuji not because it's my latest "toy" but it's caught me off guard in how well it performs.

Since I've shot Canon for almost a decade now I'm familiar with many older gen Canon Dslr's. I'll have to say the Fuji X-T10 has nice full rich RAW files that are nice to manipulate in post. If I want that fuji colour I'd rather apply it in post using LR in "Camera Calibration". I'm disgusted with the fuji jpg when I'm pushing high ISO so I rather not look at them

At this moment in time I'd rather buy another Canon Body before spending $2000CDN for a Xpro2 for a killer secondary camera. I'm making the assumption that a 5dmk4 will have similar high iso performance as a Nikon D810. This is where my current investment in Canon lenses will pay off just by waiting for technology to improve Canon's crappy Cmos sensors At least I have zero questionable thoughts of what I can do with my heavier Canon gear. I have full confidence in delivering what I need to do with the Canon.

As far as fuji is concerned the higher iso performance is decent/good but still not needs some more improvements for lower light with prime lenses. Mind you I'm basing this on my X-T10 and not the Xpro2.

For most type of photography the fuji's (X-T10, XE2) is good enough and is very usable IMO. I will still need to rent/borrow an Xpro2 to see if it's worth to buy a flashship body to match dslr focus systems. This is where the newer Sony A7 series seems to be a notch better than fuji.
