Bought this on the forum ages ago and have since realized that I never, ever shoot 85mm. Lens glass came in current condition, was purchased from another member who told me they had scratched it on some tilt shift lenses in their bag ages ago.
I really do not know how to price this lens - I knocked a couple hundred off what seems to be the going rate, but this is definitely a suggestion and I'm open to reasonable offers. IQ is still great, so no, I'm not going to take $250 for it.
Lens Body Condition: 9. Very good overall, minor signs of wear but nothing major. AF and aperture both smooth and precise, requiring essentially no AFMA on my 5D III.
Lens Glass Condition: 6? lens has pretty deep scratches on the front element. They are mainly in the mid third, with two major ones and some smaller ones that are visible only when direct light is shone on the front element. I've tested this a bunch and can't find any major issues - contrast and color are still very good to excellent, bokeh is great. If anything it might be slightly susceptible to flaring at very high apertures, but I have no way to test it against another copy.
Basically absolutely sharp and unnoticeable through the useable range - f/1.4 through f/11 at the minimum. Really just do not use 85mm at all so I'd rather have cash.
