Hey all,

Saw a really awesome display today between an Osprey & a Bald Eagle. They were at it for quite a while so I was able to take some shots here and there as they circled and fought for the territory. Happy to report neither suffered anything obvious-serious, and went on about their business. But, life sometimes results in someone not going home from these. The Osprey was on the offensive the entire time, always the aggressor. The Eagle simply was trying to leave and not really doing much to fight back but simply defend itself. I've seen them do the opposite, where the Eagle goes on the full attack and the Osprey high tails it out as the Eagle is significantly larger. Was interesting to see the Osprey wint he day for once.

Anyhow, unfortunately they were very high up and I simply didn't have the reach, even with 600mm and APS-C, they were still far beyond my reach. I apologize for the image quality, it's awful, huge crops, noisy, no real detail. They were just too far away. But these meager crops show the display still.

Really cool documentation! I've seen juvie Peregrines dive at Osprey. I guess it's just fun for those smaller Raptors to pick on the bigger guys.
