Lol, That Nikon Guy is ironically / effectively back to being That Nikon Guy again. His main reason is their repair services, which I've identified in the past as their Achilles' heel.

I've had only one experience with Sony and I was very pleased. Sent in my A7R and got it fixed within a week.

Only bad experience I ever had was with Canon when I sent in a 5d to get fixed, it was returned still not functional and had to do it all over again.

So sample size of two? Is this endemic to British Columbia? I heard something about repair services being different in Canada.

Is Sony in Canada a first-party repair service? In the United States, it is subcontracted/outsourced to Precision Camera in Conneticut. http://www.yelp.com/biz/precision-camera-enfield (external link)

CPS Canada definitely has a reputation for being incompetent.

Lol, is that a Canadian customer service thing? I heard the customer isn't right in Canada from a friend who's a friend who's a friend...I also bought a $250 mechanical keyboard from a Canadian manufacturer directly and have never once had my emails answered. Effin' Canadians! :-D

Matt Granger swaps sides all the time. He gave me crap about shooting film a couple of years ago, calling me a hipster. Then a year later he went out to Japan to buy a Hasselblad film body and made a ton of videos on shooting film.

He is a hypocrite to say the least...

He called you a hipster over the internet or in person? Can you give us some context. I think his points are valid, removing his character from the equation.

Did you even watch his video or read the article? He had the same problem that you had with your 5d in Canada.

Yup, and I've heard similar stories from various other companies too (even Canon and Nikon), so why should 1 story from 1 very opinionated professional photographer sway me? Also, Matt Granger flip-flops his stances like every other year...
