You know me and my wildflowers, I just cannot resist them! A super bloom in Death Valley is a very rare event - decades could pass before we see another one. So my friend and I rounded up a few subjects (one kid and one pregnant mama) and headed out to see what we could find. The lower elevation flowers were already done, but we found this amazing sea of golden flowers and it was just perfect! We had a very short shooting window but I'm happy with what I got. If I can convince my husband, I may have to trek out there again with our own kids this weekend. :)

First up is Izzie - what a cute little girl! She was a lot of fun to work with! (Pregnant mama will be posted in a separate thread because of the 8 image rule here)

These images can all be seen on my BLOG (external link). :)

Neat! How much longer does the super bloom last?

#3 is easily the best, but I favor landscapes over portraits.

Beautiful images!

Thank you so much! I'm honestly not sure how long the super bloom will last. The lower elevation flowers are already done but as the temps increase, the flowers move up in elevation. The mid and high elevation areas still have nice flowers. You can follow the Death Valley Facebook page where they give wildflower updates weekly. :)

I prefer serious looks, if I'd wanted a gaping smile, I would have gotten one. ;)
