Need help if possible

I have the new Nikon D500 a 360 flash well two of them the new 360 plugin and the new Adarama R2-N same as the X1-N so a full 2.4g system.

Problems first off the flash trigger test button on the R2-N dose not work at all the red light lights up and the red light lights up on the flash plugin but no test fire.

For normal shooting i do have it working but one of the main reasons i got all this was for the HSS.

Next huge problem i set the 360 to HSS set my Nikon camera to Auto FP that is how Nikon dose it for HSS.

Take a shot and i get no flash and what is worse the camera locks up with a ERR on the screen and is dead the only way i can get it to come back is to take the battery out and put it back in and when i turn it back on i can hear the mirror drop back down so it seems it is locking up with the mirror up it makes a few sounds that dont sound good..

When the R2 trigger is not on the camera i can shoot in the Auto FP mode with no problem but as soon as the R2 is put back on and i take a shot it kills the camera every time.

Any clue on how to fix this before i send it all back?? Have a shoot Thursday i wanting to do HSS on.

Thanks for any help

I had occasional ERR messages on my D5 with version V14 firmware installed on the transmitter, but they went away after installing V15. V15 firmware can be found at: http://www.godox.com/EN/Download.html (external link).

My D5 is set to 1/250 (Auto-FP) per the instructions. There's a known under-exposure issue at 1/250, so you will want to avoid that specific shutter speed until they (hopefully) get it fixed.

If you have the new 360, it comes with a built-in 2.4ghz receiver that auto-switches to HSS when used with the R2 trigger. It actually switches to HSS at 1/250, and that's why we're getting under-exposures at that particular shutter speed. All other shutter speeds are okay.

If the light isn't firing, confirm that the Channel is the same on the R2 an 360. Also make sure the wireless 2.4ghz radio icon is showing on the 360.

Great news. Is this with the 1.3 firmware that just went up on http://www.godox.com/EN/Download.html (external link) ?

Also, I note that there's a new 3.0 version of the firmware for the TT685 up today, which I *hope* will do similar tricks for that flash. Then I guess it's just the AD360II left...

Owen.

A good day for Godoxery.

I can confirm the 3.0 firmware for the Godox TT685C enables 5-group "Gr" mode. Godox also has posted a new version of the instruction manual for the TT685C that covers the new mode.

The V860IIC firmware is 1.3 and is dated 5-18-2016, so I assume it's the new one with Gr mode. The manual for the V860IIC hasn't been updated yet, however. Now I just gotta get one of them damn flashes...

Does anyone know whether Godox plans to do Gr mode firmware for the AD360? Or is it deemed too unlikely that enough people will use that flash on-camera to make it worthwhile?

Owen.

I wish I could tell you , but at this time I can't release that information. You can kinda guess what it is from the title.

Maybe the flash that is mentioned a long time ago. The tube is already there and maybe there will be a beefed up AD-1200 of the AD-600.

I don't expect that they will breath new life into the AD-180.

I'm wondering bare bulb like the 360? but 200 would be kinda redundant stuck between the 180 and 360. hmmm....

Then it could the second run at the remote head for the 360 or posing light for that flash.

Probably a pack and head version of the 360 (300Ws) but losing 2/3 stop due to the cable between pack and head ;-)a

The H600/H1200 can do it so the CL-200 could easily use the same cable. I am thinking about building a ring flash but first I have to receive my ordered AD600BM.

Hey - does your AD360 / CL360 / Streaklight 360 have a serial number? If so, where?

Thanks.

Owen.
