Don't forget to update your Sony firmware

http://www.godox.com/EN/Download.html (external link)

Updated Contents
1. Add close-range (within 30cm) triggering: press the TEST button, powering the transmitter on and holding down until the STATUS indicator lamp blinks for two times. The wireless control range is from 0 to 30 meters now.
2. Optimize the agreement with SONY camera hot shoe.

Thanks Scott.

With the RX10 it seemed like it was power, visually, was increasing from 250 - 2000, but I know above 2000 it did sync yet the shutter in the camera will not xsync above 2000, so that was hhs. I just wish there were a way to turn it off and still do ttl.

It automatically turns off until needed. It works that way with most camera/speedlite/trigger combinations I've used.
Even with HSS selected on the speedlite when the shutter is below x sync HSS is not active. Whether in TTL or M mode.

CL-200x is the works and coming. Whoop Whoop

My guess is that it is a 200 watt bare bulb flash with built in LI-ION battery. A cross between the AD180 and the V860II. If so full recycle times my take a hit.

HERE (external link) is a comparison of power output for the three levels of Godox lights I have.

The 3rd picture shows that even if the light is reflected, the speedlite still gives hotspot or more harsh light that the barebulb because the light is not spread enough to the side.
From my test, even if I put diffuser cap on it the light spread still can not match the barebulb.
I dont say that I dont like speedlite because I have 8 speedlite :)

David, have you tested the AD600B output without the remote head?

I sure hope you're right. It's the light I've been waiting for.

That's likely. I had the speedlite set to 24mm zoom but didn't put the wide angle screen down.
I've read that Joe McNally puts a stofen diffuser on his speedlites in a modifier to get the light spread to its max.

I do prefer the bare bulb lights for that reason.

Once I had 180s and 360s in my kit I haven't bothered with speedlites in modifiers.

Interesting you should ask.
I thought of that after I did the test.
Once I got the H600s I've never used the light without the remote head attached.
So, in one respect its not a valid test for me.

I think I'll do a comparison between the 600 with and without the remote, just to see if there is any appreciable light loss.

I doubt that it will be much. The cable connecting the head to the pack is reasonably sized. The tube is fired with high voltage not high current. So, if I remember my electrical principles, as long as resistance is near zero there should be no loss.

The 360 with built in battery is what I'm dreaming of :) <3

Adding a battery with sufficient power would probably add significantly to the size of the 360. Think of the battery portion of the current pack somehow attached to the light. ;-)a

This is more of what I'm looking for but you know what we all want and that's specs.
Size, weight, power output, modes, etc.
Give the low downs.
When is the excepted ship date? Suggested price?
Come on give up the info.

I measured the resistance of the remote head cable. its .5 Ohms. That's an insignificant resistance for the high voltage used to fire a flash tube. Practically speaking there will be more likelihood for measurement error doing a test with the flash that for any real loss of output.

Wow! Only 0.5 Ohm. I guess it makes sense given the thickness of the cable. Thanks!
