Godox X1 system integration thread

OK, so I did have a question.

Will the addition of the X1-R for Canon make it so I can easily integrate some of my existing Canon 580EXII flash units into a set up with the 360s and V860IIs ? I assume this will be exactly right, but wanted to double check.

Although I am now quickly being spoiled by having the wireless built into the V860II, I am also going to keep at least one 580II for their durability and ease of use on camera.

I can advise the XT-32 if you are not depending on TTL. I never was interested in the X1 and was very pleased that Godox produced a more friendly trigger.

Do you feel these are a lot easier to use than pocket wizards?

Would you say the pw are kinda just behind the technology curve?

Well, just having the flash to worry about rather than having to mount or plug anything in is 100% easier than using PW!

PW is like all other third party producer always behind. The newer cameras are never supported from day one and despite PW is using a newer faster testing routine. PW is

PW was in front of all other trigger producers and despite it flexible design it just has been surpassed by my Godox set in some areas since two weeks. I still mis the AC-3 which is very easy to use.

A big PW selling point is still HyperSync what give you flash more power and at the same time reducing usage of batteries.

This morning I have put my PW back in their boxes after years of usage and I will keep them as backup.

I was eyeing that one too. It definitely looks lot be a better "ease of use" controller than the X1 with it's large upright screen. If it weren't for the fact that I do have the TTL V860s to take advantage of, I might have gone that route instead. At this point, I just might add it as an alternative, but I am getting used to the X1.

Is this a HUGE "DUH MOMENT" for me?
Could I have been making all the adjustments in the Canon menu, instead of playing with the X1 controls!?

Much faster to make changes directly in the X1 than using the 5DmIII flash menu system.

Only this that don't work on the 5D4 is the autofocus assist beam

A lot has been written on the subject, so what's the verdict for Canon shooters? X1 or 622?
I am using Yongnuo 622C system for one Canon flash and one AB400 monolight, the other two monolights are set to trigger optically. I am in need to add one more flash to complete my lighting setup and I was looking at YN685 cause it has built-in receiver but it does not have optical slave capability which dramatically reduces its usefulness to me. Also, many user reports suggest YN685 has slow recycle time at any power setting compared to other YN flashes. I am looking at Godox T685 which seems to have all the same functions plus optical slave. Really would love to minimize on ttiggers - too many batteries... The cost between the two systems is similar; I am trying to understand if there is any difference in fucntionality and/reliability for Canon shooters.

My 622's will be up for sale shortly.

That said, If I had not moved up to AD360 I may never have gone the Godox direction, but between those units easy upgrade to 2.4GHZ, , and the Godox speedlites also with built in 2.4Ghz wireless receivers, I will be divesting myself of 622 and a number of Canon speedlites.

Given your specifics, I am not sure it's worth bothering unless you are going to expand into more of the Godox products. If you are, the Godox V860II not only gives you built in transceiver, but also rechargeable Lion battery for even fewer AA required. MUCH faster recycling with that battery too!
