Getting to this thread a little late but have read a head- spinning amount of info, still confused and have a question.
I have an ad180, 2 ad360's and 1 ad360-IIc.
I have been using the CellsII trigger and the usb receivers and just walking flash to flash to manually change settings most of the time.
I also have the xt-2 trigger and a couple of the xtr receivers.
When I use a single light set up, I use the xt transmitter and the 360II. Multiple light set ups I just tend to fall back to the old CellsII and manual control.
Question; will the new xtpro allow me to control all of those lights from my hotshoe with the xtr's under the older manual flashes? Will I get ETTL?
Thanks for any help simplifying my set up.

Not sure how to answer all your questions, but I don't understand why you still have the FTR and CellsII stuff? If you get the X1C (or the Xpro), and you have XTR16 USB on each of your AD units, you can set the settings remotely and not have to go to each unit.

I have a spare XTR that I am selling if you need one pretty cheaply, and also the X1T is around $40 all over the place, and can be used to control all of them. The Xpro is a newer more user friendly version, but loses the hotshoe.

Hey teamspeed, thanks for the reply. I screwed up on my post above. I have the R2 stuff not the X_ stuff. Like I said, I had just finished reading most of this thread and all the different godox products had all just melted into a big brain Gary.
So given that info my R2 transmitter and receivers (2 of them) can control my 3 AD360 units but not my 180 as I only have the usb receiver for it.

The Xpro is mostly an X1T* with a muchly-improved interface. Almost everything it can do, you can do already, except for TTL. All the limitations are there, that is:

You'll need a 2.4 ghz receiver for each of your flashes.
On the older units, you'll have to manually walk over and set HSS when you want to use it.
You still don't get TTL unless the light supports it.

However, you can mix and match TTL and non-TTL flashes, for example using TTL as your main and the rest as kickers, hair lights, fill or spots on the background, etc.

I hope I'm answering your questions, here.

*The Xpro has at least a few sweet new features, like TTL lock, though.

Yes you are helping very much, thank you.
I am thinking I'll buy that new transmitter when it is available, I think it looks much easier to control and adjust.
Thanks!

Anybody around here have one of those in hand yet?

I pre-ordered mine last month...there's been a delay, but the last message I got from Adorama last week was "shipping on October 19."

Anyone (Helen?) know what's happening with Adorama's supposed shipping of these things? I pre-ordered mine, and it said they would ship yesterday, but today the message that used to specify the ship date has changed to a generic "You may place this on order now and it will be shipped on a first come first serve basis. We do not charge your card until we actually ship."

There was an delay and they seems to be shipping now and my went on his trip yesterday. Has to take some hurdles on the long trip and maybe it will be with me in a little more than a week.

Remember the Adorama ones will have to be silkscreened/stamped with their name and have also travel that long way from China.

No. I'll be waiting longer than you, I suspect, as I'm shooting Sony now.

EDIT: No, I haven't learned to cultivate patience on new toys, either.

You mean shipping from China now?

If so, it really would have been better if Adorama had updated the info about them shipping to customers on the 19th.... before the 19th.

The message used to say orders would ship on the 19th... I am sure orders are starting to go out at this point. However Amazon sellers are saying that they are getting stock on the 31st, so it is possible Godox delayed things a bit.

In case nobody emails, the SKU of the item is FPRRR2PROC (external link). I also pre-ordered the XPro-C and got a "Item(s) on backorder on your Adorama order #xxxxx" email message. The website said shipping on the 19th, but is now not stating a date. "You may place this on order now and it will be shipped on a first come first serve basis. We do not charge your card until we actually ship."
