Any advice on how to photograph birds through windows? I might soon have an opportunity to do this.

I have had good and bad success trying this. I have found that a circular polarizing filter helps in some situations if there is a lot of light. It will at least reduce the glare some.

The only advice I can give is try to keep the lens as close to the window as possible and at right angles. No lights on inside will help with glare and reflections. I had a feeder outside a window in a rental unit two years ago and managed some fairly good shots using this technique.

First and foremost, make sure its clean!!! inside and outside of all the glass you can get to. After that I found overcast days are best, the direct sun can ad some strange glare. but I shot with a lens hood on , up against the glass and got some decent results, sharpness tends to fall off pretty quick in the corners though.

These are all thru my french door to my deck. Theres more but this is a good sample

In addition to the suggestions already mentioned, you might want to invest in one of those cheap rubber lens hoods. It will allow you to get right up against the glass even if you're not perfectly perpendicular to it, and it won't make a sound like the lens or a hard lens hood might do if you touch the glass with it.

My $.02 worth, no sunlight on the glass! And, of course, clean glass. Oh, and remove the screen.:-P
