Is my LR5.5 set up correct as it is supposed to be camera raw 7.1 compatable - yet when i check the matadata for a dng 9.1 file it shows the following in the DNG setting -

DNG Version 1.4
DNG Compatability 1.3
Compatablity LR2.4

Bits per sample 12

In the DNG convertor i use - i have it set up for Cam raw 7.1 compatable, so how come its showing these strange compatablity settings?

Any ideas please.

P.

DNG Version 1.4
DNG Compatability 1.3
Compatablity LR2.4

That means compatible with the listed version numbers and later. IOW, any LR from 2.4 to 6.5/2015.5

Excuse me, I changed my mind - I'm not sure what the metadata means because I just did two conversions to dng in LR 6.5, one set to 7.1 compatible and the other 2.4 compatible and as you can see below, the metadata is identical in the two of them. The only difference I see is that in the conversion dialog for the 2.4 comp. Lossy DNG is not available.

Both work the same in LR 6.5, ACR 9.5 and ACR 8.5 (in PSE 12, equivalent to LR 5.5). I would just ignore the metadata. Don't stress it.
