Yeah, that'll help. But when I said the Tam 28-75 is ONE Of the great budget lenses for a full frame camera, I meant after the 50mm 1.8! The Tam's 2.8 is great, but if you want to shoot outdoors in the evening, indoors, in restaurants, etc., that extra 1+ stop is pretty handy! The Canon 1.2 50mm is $1200! If you can swing it, try to keep both (unless you don't do any low light photography at all...).

oh no worries there, I still have a 50/1.4 and a 85/1.8 =)
I just thought a semi-wide angle zoom would be nice to have for a walkaround

As a walkaround I'd go for the 24-105L. And I have both.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Oh, heck, you are all set! Yeah, I'd lose that 1.8 50 in a heartbeat (in fact, I did! Sold mine 2 weeks ago when I bought a 1.4).

Thanks
I nearly had to wipe my lens after this one
Amazing how close-by this lens focuses

Great shots everyone! I particularly liked this one:

I have decided to give the 28-75 another chance. The first two I tried had problems (couldn't communicate properly with the camera, severe random misfocus and things like that), so I kind of gave up on Tamron, but maybe third time's a charm? :)

I should. Mine has never given any problem on either body, and gives excellent results. Are you sure the pins on the camera are clean and grease-free?

All my other lenses work perfectly, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with my 5D. Hope the new 28-75 will work as well as yours! Can't wait to receive it.
