Just wanted to say that I have received my 28-75 now. It's too early to say for sure, but it seems to work just fine! Sharp wide open at all focal lengths, and no misfocused ones among the 40 test shots I took. What a relief. Third time's a charm, eh? :) I look forward to take some real life photos with it. It should be a convenient travel lens as well as a good companion to my primes.

Honestly $350 or $500 - this lens is worth every penny. I think I paid $425 about 2 or 3 years ago...

I do have an issue that I hope someone can steer me in the right direction... The rubber grip ring for my zoom "comes loose" when it gets a little too warm outside. Being in Texas this happens a lot... Anyone know what the OEM adhesive is for this part?

i wouldn't use adhesive: just some double-tack tape

I have the same issue. Do you think the 3m double sided tape from those window insulation kits would work? I would think anything else would be too thick.

NOPE - tape *IS* adhesive.

I am trying to find out if anyone knows what the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) adhesieve is. I cant imagine they use tape.

I had this problem years back with my Tamron SP 70-210. I used Bluetack, which I think in America is called White Tack. Can be very thin, stays adhesive but doesn't "grip", and is removeable.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Lets try this -

Does anyone know what Tamron uses to adhere the rubber grip to the lens?

I know I can use all sorts of things to do this, just looking to find the product that Tamron uses. Don't want to void warranty, and don't want to lose it for the length of time that Tamron would take to fix it under warranty.

Thank you Frogdog and haifangshi! It's a nice place, not far from where I live, so I'll try and go there again some time.
