New to me 5D2 :), got it used here..85k clicks, lol.

Not sure what the standard for quality on it is, almost considering sending it to Canon for clean and calibration.

I was breaking photography rules...and forum ones too, opps.

Never posted in these forums before. So, this is my first attempt, as it was with trying close ups at the weekend.

I had to sell the idea of a new lens to my partner when I bought my Tamron 28-75 two years ago. I persuaded her with nice images of our new kitten. Since then the kitten has become a cat and I've not used my Canon 1000d as much as I would have wished. At the weekend we visited a garden and I dusted off my camera and Tamron. It's my first attempt at flowers and insects and we're both pleased with the result. I do not regret the purchase and love what this lens can do for a total novice like me.

Welcome, Justin! I think that's one of the great selling points of this lens -- it's affordable enough for a new user to justify (hopefully!) but it's also a nice enough lens that you won't feel the need to replace it right away as you gain more experience. :)
