Just purchased the Canon 70-200L II

Hi all....

Someone on another forum mentioned http://www.greentoe.co​m in a post and I gave it a shot. I just purchased the 70-200L II for $1759.00 It's from an authorized US dealer...not grey market....the shipping and tax are included in the price.

So.. I thought I would pass on the info and if you are in the market... give them a shot.

B&H (my favorite store) has them for...

That is a very good price. Do you mind revealing the "authorized US dealer"?
I consider this the best 70-200 zoom made. Maybe the best zoom lens ever made! You will love it and if you don't for some strange reason, you can be satisfied there is nothing better.

You need the ef 24-70mm f2.8L II to go along with it. You will than have the best kit of zooms possible!

Give them a shot... you can place your price on a lens or other items, they will go out and shop for the lowest price, then you you have a week to make the purchase.

I had the 24-70 v1 and just didn't get much use out of it. I'm looking at the Tamron 15-30 at the moment for UWA...(mainly landscape stuff) still on the fence

Have you considered the 16-35 f4 as a wide angle option?... Excellent lens, very sharp and has IS for those low light hand held moments..

It's a great lens! I rented one and it's either going to be the Tamron or the F/4. I haven't made up my mind just yet. The Sigma 24-35 is interesting as well.... but... I do like the look of the UWA... so... just need to make up my mind. LOL

This would prevent me from using it. Why is it such a secret? What if there is a problem? How can you be sure it is a Canon USA authorized dealer? I guess I will stick with B&H and Adorama. They both have been good to me for many years. They should not be ashamed to reveal the dealer.

I have the name of the store it was purchased from... it is a legit... Canon USA dealer. I've been exclusive to B&H for a number of years... I took a chance... gave http://www.greentoe.co​m a shot and it saved me some money.

What they are asking is to not disclose who it was purchased from to keep deals coming for other users. Maybe this dealer had more inventory than they wanted... discounted the lens to push more product? There are a number of reasons why stores might not want to advertise bottom prices or even take a small loss to unload inventory. Also, this this service has to get a cut from the sale to make $$$ and if you put out "so-n -so" has smoking deals on the 70-200... this takes them out of the picture and they do not make any money.


Again... they give you the seller info and all the details. If something happens to the lens... I have the full US warranty and can send it back to the seller.

I fully understand.... I can be the same way. I looked at it this way... the only thing it was going to cost me was return shipping if I didn't feel like the deal was legit. I made an offer.... they countered... I bought the lens. The store info was sent, I looked them up online and they are legit. They have a huge number of transactions on Ebay with all positive feedback. The BBB has them as an A+, it's a Canon authorized dealer. So... as long as the lens arrives in one piece and is new as advertised... I'll be happy. If not... I'll pay the shipping on the return, get a refund and press on.

Right now I have a counter offer on the Sigma 50mm F.1.4 Art. I just need to make up my mind if I want the lens or not. You can see I made the offer and they countered.

So... maybe take a shot and give them a try... ( I receive nada for promoting them LOL) You might save some money in the end and get a great lens/deal?

they are probably selling below MAP and don't wan't to be cut off by their supplier.

It's a fantastic lens, enjoy it !
