What is the difference between the Godox AD360 mk1 and mk2?

Sorry if this was asked before, I tired searching the web and the forum, but could not get a clean answer.

Thanks

That's Canon's auto flash system?

Is that the only difference, There is $145 difference between the two versions. Too tempting:lol:

MK II also has a built-in wireless receiver that works with the Godox X1 Transmitter.

There are currently Canon and Nikon TTL versions. Godox is in the midst of developing a Sony variant as well.
The MKII is available only with TTL. It will also, according to published specifications, but to my knowledge untested, auto switch between the various TTLs options as a remote.

Thanks. If you use the flash in manual mode and for hss only, is there any advantage to getting the newer version or the first version is sufficient? I am looking at the kits right here:

If you want to do HSS with the mark I version, you'll need to buy an HSS trigger. The trigger that comes with it isn't HSS compatible, although the flash itself is.

I have the original version, but if I were going to buy now I would get the new version, if only because it has the radio receiver built-in.

Just to make sure I got this right: the MK1 kit (pictured first) is capable of HSS but does not include the transmitter required for HSS. The MK2 kit (pictured second) has the transmitter that enables hss included, right?

That's correct.

If you really don't need or want TTL, you could buy the AD360 (i.e. mark I) a $45 transmitter (the X1T-C for Canon, X1T-N for Nikon) and a $20 receiver (XTR-16). You wouldn't be saving much money, however, and you would have the added bother of a small receiver that needs to be plugged into the side of the flash.

Right.
Another option for the Mk1 is to get the XTR-16. Tt replaces the FT-16 and permits it to work with the X-1 which is an FP-sync capable trigger.

I think, you'll have to confirm, that the XTR-16 permits setting the MK1 to H mode from the X-1. With another FP-sync trigger, such as the YN-622, the AD360 MK 1 has to be placed into H mode by pressing buttons on the flash unit.

With the AD360, and XTR-16, to use HSS one must enable the mode by pressing buttons on the flash itself. No remote enabling via X1T, as far as I know.
