I sold my 18-135mm IS STM for $130 and picked up a clean used copy of the 18-135mm IS USM for $200. If I had held out I'm sure I could have sold the STM for at least 150 and probably could have found the USM for under 200, so if you put in some leg work you could probably upgrade for minimal cost. I liked my STM but the Nano USM system is in another league altogether. PhotographicMemoriesCT.com
