Thank you for the compliment! It was a good day, albeit HOT!

Charles...I hear ya about the heat. I'm headed out this afternoon, and it's going to be easily over 100 degrees. Come on Fall, hurry up and get here.

Thank God it was overcast. Buggy muggy heat is still buggy muggy heat. Another shot from that day.

That is a truly marvelous shot Charles. The gnarly ol' tree roots, and the contrasty b&w make this shot so stunning.

Thank you! I was concerned it might be too busy. I am so impressed with how the 80D handles shadows compared to the 7D.

I cheated this time around and brought the tripod! Been doing more video work with the 80d since it does 60fps... Still annoyed no 4k with a decent codec.

It's annoying to carry around, but the owls tend to just sit there anyways, so I have two free hands to swat at the mosquitoes.

Yeah nicely done! Great example of symmetry and line.

Cool video! The colors created by the sunset are stunning!

More frog attempts:

For this one I actually managed to hold a diffusor in my left hand while kneeling on the ground, holding and operating the camera with my right hand (wouldn't know what to do without the swivel screen :-D):

Pro:
No ugly burnt out reflections on the skin

Con:
Now there's a reflection of me holding the diffusor in the frog's eye

Dang, I can't win, can I?

Charles, I completely agree with you. The dynamic range of this camera is truly amazing. My only problem is that I'm constantly switching back and forth between my 7DII and my 80D. The controls on the back of the two cameras are quite different from one another, and I'm constantly getting them mixed up. :-( I love both cameras, so I guess I just have to put up with it. :-)

Looking good, Michael. If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd of never noticed your reflection in the frogs eye.
