So, I finally took my 80D out for a test run with my old and proven dust pump.....my initial thoughts:

- Not as sharp as my old 60D (maybe need some MFA)
- photos feel a bit washed out
- noise seems higher at 3200 ISO than my old 60D
- faster autofocus for sure

Will keep trying. Here are a few samples as I keep editing.

Interesting. I had a T3i/600D before (which has the same sensor as the 60D, I think) and the 80D has less and much better noise. While I used ISO 3200 only if I had to, I use it routinely on the 80D because the images look much cleaner.

Concerning washed out photos:
Do you use Lightroom? Photos often look a bit pale/washed out to me with the default 'Adobe Standard' camera calibration profile. Colors look much better most of the time when I set it to 'Camera Faithful' or 'Camera Neutral'.

Noise is subjective. While iso 3200 looks fine to some, others can only see the noise. I have mine set to 1600 max iso. For auto iso. Even that is sketchy. I prefer to manually set it at 100. And gradually raise it only if need be for proper shutter and/or aperture.

I will try this and revert. Interesting idea.

I like the B&W shots too. Without the colours the ring grabs my attention quicker.

I didn't notice until after I posted that I hadn't scrolled all the way to the bottom. Think I've done that a couple of times now when there are multiple images. Not going past all the image tags. Oh well. I'm old. What can I say. :-)
