Sorry, I meant because it's a feature I love and see no down-sides to. As far as I can tell on mine even with the touch screen enabled you can still use the af-on button to focus in live view (it focuses where the white rectangle is--the rectangle turns blue for an instant) and if you touch the screen it moves the focusing rectangle but doesn't refocus unless you press the af-on button again. This is assuming you have the af-on button set to focus and the shutter button set so it doesn't focus. And having the touch screen enabled means you can easily and instantly move the focusing rectangle to wherever you want it on the screen without laboriously using the direction control thing on the back of the camera.
