Repost from the Soccer Thread...

I've shot a variety of events but this was my first soccer match. The client contacted me 2 hours before the match and I happen to live 10 minutes down the road from it (they drove 3 hours to the tournament). I figured, sure why not?! Ended up being pretty fun and it was a perfect chance to try out the af system on my new 80D! So, naturally, I took WAY too many photos because I was also excited to test the 80D. Anyway...here are a few of my favorites.
Marked these as 70D because 80D is not in the gear list yet and I wanted to add these to my gallery.

The full gallery can be viewed here >>> Event Photos (external link)

As far as i know, Apple has yet to produce a RAW compatibility update for the 80D.

Wonder how long that is going to take?

Any rumors or insight?

Add me to the list of 80D owners! Mine will arrive Thursday. It was a tough decision between the 80D and the 7DII. I'm heading to Yellowstone next week and decided on the 80D for its overall versatility.

I'm still real happy with my 7D classic, but am looking forward to the flippy screen, wifi, more mp, etc. I think the deciding feature that made my decision was the increased dynamic range. I'll be doing a lot of landscape and I'm sure it will come in handy.

Congrats, sandwedge! The 80D is a great camera, IMO. I also love the dynamic range, lifting shadows works so much better than on my T3i.

Blake,
I guess you used AI Servo for the soccer shots? Did you tweak the AF settings of use the camera default? I'm just beginning the try and learn about AF tracking so it would be cool to know how others use the 80D for that.

Yes, Servo all the way! I did tweak the servo settings tho. I adjust the tracking, target lock, etc. I'd have to look at it to see exactly what my values are. I would recommend at least looking at all of the values in the menu and reading about them. There is a short description in camera when you are changing setting that should help.

Ive had mine for just over a week now. I love it. In fact ive not touched my 5Dmkiii since the 80D arrived, and ive had to shot in low light where the 5D would have been better. The 80D worked perfectly though.
I love the more updated features on the 80D. I felt my 5Dmkiii was getting old, especially compared to my a6000. I think Canon have done a nice balance between features and IQ. The one thing i really miss is being able to press a button and getting a 100% view on the LCD. Its a small moan though.

Ive yet to take anything really interesting, but so far im happy with what i have taken. Ive even got myself a EF-S 10-18 to go with my 24-70L f/2.8 mkii. Ironically the first time i have a WA lens and its on a crop camera.

Repost from the Pets thread:

I shoot at this park frequently when they put on events. I just got my 80D and wanted to really test it out. So... I invited people out to give me some targets!
Here are a few of my favorites.

The full gallery can be seen here >>> Event Photos (external link)

These were all taken with my 80D. I had to mark them as the 70D so I could add them to my gallery.

Some photos from a recent trip to Hobart. Still getting used to the new camera and in particular the focal points. More time out and about definitely needed.
