Excellent lens in terms of sharpness. Manual focus and aperture, but once you figure out where the infinity mark is really at focusing at night is no longer an issue. Manual, old school aperture ring. So use to setting aperture from the camera body I forget to check the setting on the lens. Build quality is excellent. Built in lens hood to protect the large front element. I use this lens mainly for astrophotography, but also works very well for landscape as well. Very sharp at f/2.8, a few light angles in the corners. IQ even sharper at f/5.6. Downside: some crazy distortion in the middle of the image caused by the lens. May some up in a landscape image with a defined horizon. For astrophotographer the distortion is not an issue. Overall an excellent value for the money.
