Hello! Oh boy, its been so long... but I'm trying to get back into photography!

I've had my 5DMII collecting dust for a few years now. I only have a 50mm 1.8. Looking to get a new lens.

I want to be able to start shooting landscape + architecture + action (surfing, rock climbing)... I was thinking of starting off with a Sigma 24-105, I've heard great things about that. decisions decisions.... Man, maybe thats why I left photography, I just realized how expensive it can get.

Any other third party lenses I should look into? I've been out of the loop, I don't know what's going on now a days.

how much money are you looking to spend? there can be a lot of budget friendly options...the sigma 24-105mm is probably going to be more expensive than the 24-105L since the market is flooded with them from people getting them as kit lensess

To get back into shooting, you don't need another lens unless you know what subjects interest you. My suggestion is to just grab your camera with that lens that you already have and start shooting. Shoot and shoot and see what really sparks your interest, then decide. Don't know much about that Sigma lens. I used to have a zoom like that by Canon and found it pretty useless for my purposes. Good luck and happy shooting
