More info | Apr 03, 2016 15:52 | #2 I picked the 50D over the 60D, but I have some good reasons, and some not so good reasons to do so. Firstly I already had lots of batteries, it uses BP511's, and a BG-E2N battery grip from my 20D, not to mention a load of CF cards too. I have a gig doing product photogtaphy at an industrial location with lots of RFI, so I use the PC socket when the RF trigger is struggling. I also love the big rear wheel and Joystick control interface. I also like the Reble/xxxD interface.

The 50D is somewhat larger and heavier than the 60D and is closer in size ro a 7D. It has a semi-professional build with a magnesium alloy body. The 60D dumbed down the build a bit to more of a consumer body, a few steps above the Rebels of that period. It was a smaller polycarbonate body and the separate joy stick and rear control wheel were replaced by the D-pad, which in the opinion of many was a downgrade. This was presumably done to push upgraders to the then new semi pro 7D and have a more appropriate upgrade path for Rebel (xxxD) users . The 60D had a number of new and more advanced features. like high def video, the articulating LCD, and an 18mp sensor with better low light performance, but it also lost some pro oriented features like the focus micro adjust (MFA). ksbal Goldmember More info | Apr 04, 2016 08:35 | #5 it is the perfect starter camera, some advanced features like MFA if you want that, but solid and rugged and up for anything. Congrats! Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.
