Trying out the new gear-

Finally, weather is something other than cold and rain! Sunday was warm and sunny but very windy. A chance to see what the 7D ll, the BigSig and I can do. Straight out of the box, I am very happy- looks like we can have a happy life together. The last 3 shots appear to show a bit of front focusing, so I have since made a small adjustment there.

I see the EXIF is noting the wrong lens-all w/ the Sigma 150-600.

Yeah, you have to change that manually. For some reason, the forum software reports the Sigma as the Canon 100-400. Maybe they are just trying to make the Canon look better. ; )

Hah, since I am not sure how to do the manual correction, I'll just let folks wonder how I get 531 or 600mm out of the 100-400. With the increasing popularity of this lens, I suspect the glitch will be corrected soon.

Thanks Buddy! Been hoping to acquire this gear for quite awhile. So far, looks like it's worth the wait. Learning more bit by bit about the various features available. Really looking forward to the summer shooting here-and yes, back in Illinois. Jeez, it's cold up here!

I have had the Big Sig C for just under a year now... I LOVE this lens. I can work it well hand held and I just picked up a sidekick to do some BIF stuff with my set up. Congrats on some great shots!!!

Thank you, my friend and it does feel very good! I do like what I've seen so far. Have since made a couple of tweaks via the dock, but I'm still waiting for weather to see how they affect the results.

Thank you, Cole. Never have been one to use a 'pod. Will have to see how it goes w/ this combo. These shots were handheld w/default OS system. Have since switched to Dynamic mode
