4K Monitor flickers @ 60Hz

I have just upgraded to a Samsung 4k monitor with an ASUS GTX950 video card using displayport cable. If I set it to 60 Hz it flickers about. I have been reading now I bought one that this seems to be a common issue.
Anyone know of a fix if you have suffered the issue.

Glad to hear it! Care to tell us how? It would help others in the same situation, or concerned about buying that monitor.

The monitor is a Samsung 28" 4K @60Hz Cables provided (HDMI 1.4, Mini Display Port and some other odd cable). I asked the sales person if the box contained a display port cable to which he said no. So I bought one ($6 cable???). Turns out 4K will work with HDMI 2 but not the HDMI 1.4 Samsung provided (Thanks Samsung). So I tried what turned out to be the mini display port cable and all was fine. Full 4k @ 60Hz.

Moral of the story. do not trust computer store pimple faced geeks to tell the truth. They often have no idea either. I suspected the cable he sold me first up. Never trust a $6 cable.

If you haven't got 4K yet I fully endorse doing so. It's great editing full res images.

Your images are 8MP? How are you editing in full res?

I would be interested to hear if you have Windows set up for standard 100% text size (not 125% OR 150%), and if you have your browser also set up for 100% text size, and if you experience text web browsing readability issues with too-small text using a 28" 4k resolution monitor.

I'm talking image dimensions 4k is 3840x2160. Images after cropping (if necessary) maybe 4000 wide. So only have to pan across a small amount. But usually the target is in on screen at 100%

I think it's set to 125% ATM
yes text is small. But prefer not upping the scale.
