Anyone good with this stuff? Usually I can figure it out but I am stuck!

Here’s the thing: My domain is registered at mydomain.com and parked at bluehost.com but is hosted at cloudways. (I used to host at bluehost and have kept the domain parked there because I have other sites there and my email runs through there. ) Anyway, I am using a proofing site and would like to create a CNAME to direct to the proofing site to make it look like my own. So my url for the proofing site is brendahoffmanphotography.instaproofs.com. I created a CNAME (on both bluehost and mydomain because I am trying to figure it out. Lol) of store.brendahoffmanphotography.com but it just goes to my home page and not the proofing site. Any suggestions?

What's your root domain name? Is that the one in your signature? If so, anything else you add should precede that name: i.e. instaproofs.brendahoffmanphotography.com.

Have you created the 'store' subdomain?

Yes, my root is brendahoffmanphotography.com and I have created store.brendahoffmanphotography.com. It just keeps treating it like a wildcard and pointing to my home page.

I suspecting that somehow the fact that my registrar is one place and the domain is listed as parked at another is part of the problem. I just don't know exactly how to fix it without losing my email that is with the host where it is "parked".

Why not just use a subdomain like some of us do for our weblogs or stuff? You can always add a link to return to the main site there.

I'm not sure I am following you. I'm not hosting the proofs myself; it's a service provided by a third party. I'm just trying to make it look like my domain.

OIC. Sorry, I was the one who wasn't following you.
