So after an almost 2 year break, I purchased another 6D and some glass. Spent two days with it so far and some things I didnt realize before, Im starting to see. The 11 focus points, all close together really bother me. So many shots It seems I need to re position if im trying to get a certain focus point. Last night had some family over. I didnt thinknit was very dark, but man did the 6D struggle with AF. I know a speedlight assist will help. But with those two things, Im really thinking of selling the 6D and paying a few hundred more for D750. That should holdme over for a few years. Problem is, I love the Canon community and canon glass. But Im starting to think it's the best move.

Use back button AF and ONLY the center point (it is the most sensitive and accurate). Don't even bother with the other points in bad light. Press the AF button to focus, and then recompose and shoot.

If you use the center point ONLY and still have focus problems in low light, assuming your 6D is functioning normally, a D750 won't be a major improvement if at all.

Long time Canon user here that recently sold my 6D. I had a brief run with the Sony A7R II (which didn't work for me), then bought the Nikon D750. Coming from the 6D, I don't think you will be disappointed at all with the Nikon D750. For me, it is better in just about every way, better DR/resolution, comparable noise, much better AF, faster FPS, dual card slots, tilt screen, etc.

As far as glass, the only lens I miss is the 135 L, but I really like the f/1.8 line of primes that Nikon released. I also prefer the 24-120 kit over the Canon 24-105. Nikon has a couple nice 70-200 options, but I opted for the Tamron VC version, which is excellent. So far, no regrets.

Sony A1, 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II, 70-200mm F/2.8 GM OSS II, 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS, 35mm f/1.4 GM, Viltrox 16mm f/1.8, 1.4X TC, Flashpoint flashes
