Let it "Carefully" shine.
Where is the recent monstrous flar? Or may be your exposure is higher than what it should be. Try with a lower EV tomorrow and see if you can pick up the sun's spot.

Great image.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

Something is definitely missing ! Maybe it's a shot before any sunspots appeared. That sunspot that visible now would be there no matter what .

I assum this is done with utilization of a Welding mask glass/filter.
These filters are safe, cheap, common at hardware stores such as HomeDepot and do add a (Pleasent) yellow tone to white sun however, being a thick uneven glass (Not made for photography) specially when used with a high magnifications of a telelens that multiplies any imperfection is filter construciton (If uneven), you do get an unsharp image, almost always, no mater what you do otherwise. So Welding filters are not really suitable for solar photography.
Please correct me if I am otherwise wrong in use of welding glass.
