Managed to get close to a Black-winged Stilt the other day in Northern Philippines....:)

This was taken with a 1DM2 + Sigmonster, 800 mm, f/9, ISO 320, 1/1250 sec, manual exposure, AI servo (linked because of largish size - 1000x750):

this is a spectacular shot. The lighting and details are excellent. I couldnt belive my eyes when i saw the crisp water drop falling from the birds bill. At first I thought what the heck is that and thought it was distracting but then i realized and thought it added to the shot. very cool

Thanks, Richard. I thought the water droplet strengthened the shot too, so I never considered cloning it out. :)
