We have started to do more slide shows for our wedding couples. Is there a simple sound recorder out there that would be easy to hand the DJ and have him plug in to record the mic'd audio during the ceremony. I would like to be able to put some of it in with our still slide shows. Think it would add a great touch.

iPhone, iPad, iPod, or any android device with recording software will work.

Thats good to know, guess I will look into an app that would allow this.

Keep in mind that DJs may not always have an available channel or be willing to accommodate you.

I use a Zoom H4n for this task when needed. You can also stick the Zoom directly in front of one of the speakers and record that way if need be. You'll want to carry your own XLR cables and a decent set of headphones to monitor the audio.

Ditto on that. The DJ might be willing, but unlikely to help you much. Be ready with a host of different adapters. He might, for instance, let you split off his headphone jack, if you've got a splitter. A recorder like a Zoom or Tascam is more likely to handle anything you can get--better controls, more kinds of inputs--than a cell phone.
