Well thank you, very kind. It has taken a bit of adjustment, last year I as shooting with a different body & lens under the net. I stopped using my 2 7Ds when I finally had my share of high ISO noise. Now I shoot with 2 6Ds. I went from 7 FPS to 3 FPS (I know they say 4 but I'm not buying it). I also shot with the nifty fifty under the net last year, this year I bought the Canon 24-70mm F/4. I have a blast, I'm so lucky to be able to shoot my college team & actually make money doing it. Love college hoops!!

Thanks again.

6D.... got it. I was looking at the wrong images exif. I've also used a 24-105 under the net and a 17-40 as well. Fine the long range on the 105 almost pointless.. just can't get in tight enough. But 17 and 24 on a full frame.... lots of fun under the net.

I haven't posted anything here in a long time. Here are a few photos from the McNeese women's basketball game with Houston Baptist last Saturday.

Very nice. That 1D X + 300mm is a great combination, huh. I got a buddy using a 300mm for action at the other end, I'm stuck with the 70-200mm. ;-)a

Thanks. Yes. Still a little tight except for shooting at the other end of the court. This was the first time I experimented with it and was only with the women's game.

May try it for a half with the men's game tonight.

Happens quite a bit with games where you have a big venue for a game where hardly anyone shows up. Depends on importance of game, divisional level, size of the uni, etc. Always looks empty when people just scatter around. This happens even in the lower NBA leagues.

Unfortunately, yes! I don't have that problem with my basketball games, The Pete fills up well because it is still on campus. They also keep the crowd kinda dark. Pitt football is a different story. They tore down the stadium that was on campus & now they play at Heinz Field. It's a pain for the students to get downtown so not many show up. Don't get me wrong, we still get 30,000 students & fans, but the place holds 68,000. This is where F/2.8 really helps. I also purposely stand so as to add as little empty seats as possible.

And if a game falls on a date that the students are on break, forget it!
