I ran over to Yellowstone for a day trip to try out a new tripod and Sidekick. They worked well. And so did this male black bear. I was the only one hanging with this guy. A benefit to the Park in April. None of these shots are cropped. I was pretty close. I watched him for close to 30 minutes. It was a great day to be in the Park. Thanks for looking, Cole

Awesome "candids"! I envy your day at the YP.
I haven't gotten over there enough in the past.
That changes this year.

The one with the tongue sticking out is a classic!

Thanks for the share and the push to "out there"!

Thanks. I went back today, saw two more. Hope to get photos up in the next few days. Good luck!

Did you see the video of the woman petting the bison?

Yes did. Crazy. On the sow bear yesterday, two foreigners walked within 10 yards. Her cubs were somewhere. I'm all for getting close, but I fear in crowds of people, getting that close gets them nervous. Gatta love the mindset of some folks. Hope the weather is decent for you tomorrow. FYI, spend some time at Phantom Lake! She is often there with her cubs!

Very nice, Cole! My trip out there is 4 weeks away. I'm worse than a 12-year-old waiting for Christmas!

Very nice Cole, I especially like the 1st one. Speaking of the bison petting, when i lived in Cody, the number one cause of injuries from animals in the park that came to the trauma center, was from bison. People just aren't to smart.

Great shots, thanks for sharing!

We're just over 3 weeks out ourselves and can't wait! Thanks for the location tip. It's always a help.
Last time we were there (Spring of 2014) everybody was talking about the Tower bear cubs, or the Bluebirds at Slough creek, the GHO's at Mammoth. While there always seems top be a few Tourons at some of the popular locations, most people I shot with showed great respect for the wildlife and kept their distance.

Spending the last 2 days in Jackson and hope to spot my first Gray Owl, but if it's not in the cards it's still a great trip!

Awesome! I hope it pans out well for you. There has been a great Gray in Mammoth as. He has been seen behind the post office in the trees.

Thanks! We're spending 2 of our 8 night trip in Mammoth, so we'll be on the lookout for sure.

We added a day to the beginning of our trip because I had the time available and we wanted to maximize time there due to the flight from the East coast. Now we're tempted to add a couple more lol.
