Tyabb Airshow. Skies sort of cleared a little.
These are a few air shots. Most of the day was extremely overcast.

WE have real morons in charge of civil aviation in Australia. Lots of limitation on what can or cant happen at our airshows. Unfortunately these morons were present on the day.

I bet you our morons are even worse than your morons at the moment. After the tragic events at Shoreham last year they are using it as a lever to up the fees for shows by 200% or more. I hear that a lot of the existing shows won't be happening now. Prior to the accident last year the last time anyone who wasn't a performer was killed at a UK airshow was when John Derry's de Havilland came apart at Farnborough in the 1950's (I forget the exact year) and parts of the aircraft came down on the spectators. So I don't think we had a serious problem with air show safety in the UK.

I do like that MK VIII paint scheme, you don't often see spitfires with a sharkmouth design.

We had an accident a few years ago where a scale Spit came down killing the pilot in a suburb near the airfield. I think that is having an impact.
But these days the planes have to stay on the opposite side of the runway from the spectators and certainly no overflying. Even approved photographers were not allowed on the airfield with escort even.
These over PC people are killing the fun.
