Well, I did it again!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I had full intent to stay connected through the winter months, but then I put the camera away after the winter holidays and never pulled it back out. ...and with my simple, male, one-track mind, I was off doing other things.

Now, I have a freshly built computer, a new monitor on the way which should solve the processing problems of last year, and I have done some renovations to my macro flash / diffusion setup...

Here are a couple from my first test outing...

Good photos, it is not easy in my experience to get the legs of the woodlouse like that.

I enjoyed those macro pictures- I have to figure out how to get that much depth of field!

I think (and please correct me if I am wrong) in the second one he had the correct angle and so it looks so well. This is not belittling his photo, getting the right angle is an important part of photography.

Yes, I was able to get the perfect angle on the woodlouse. This is season three for my fledgling macro hobby and my objectives this year are to:

1. Focus on the angle.
2. Hone in my diffusion.
3. Work on steadiness! Quite a few of my photos show just a tiny bit of movement and its quite frustrating!

I have a triangle in my head. Composition and technique at one point, lighting at another, and post processing at the last. Constantly spinning that triangle...

I will try to oil the gears, my triangle is having trouble spinning

I always say to myself that I will get more pics during the winter but it never happens lol. I think I did the odd one here and there but it is nice to have a bit of a break and start the new season with lots of anticipation and enthusiasm
