Nobody makes a perfect wireless setup. Especially since everyones needs are different.

I know there are a lot of alien bees fans, but the cybersync transmitter is the worst one I've ever used. They keep falling apart. I've not used the commander so can't speak on that one.

Yongnuo makes the wireless I like using but their flashes are crap. Godox is making good flashes but I don't like their wireless.

I like the Yongnuo St-E3-Rt transmitter the best so far. Mostly because it has an interface like Canon's and I can still use with any studio flash. If Godox made a controller like that I would be dumping everything else.

What I liked about the ST-E3 is that it was an exact replica of the interface on the 600EX-RT. Just without the extra size and weight of the speedlite components. I would be happy if Godox did the same thing. Build an X system controller that was the interface on the speedlites without the speedlite components.

I'm saying that based on my limited experience with the TT685s as a controller for the AD600. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get an X1T to test.

If you need a flash on-camera, there's always the V860 II as master rather than mounting a flash on top of the X1.

Wait,
I just talked to Godox dealer in here and he said,
if I want a speedlite mounted on top, I can not use V860II as master to trigger other V860II or AD360II

He suggest to use XT1 and put V860II on top

Which one is correct ? I am confused

Newton FR3, Newton modified bracket, EF 17-40mm x4,EF 24-70mm f/2.8 x2, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 x2
Quantum Trio x2, T5D-R x1 + FW7Q x1, CoPilot x2, Godox AD-180 x5
Propac PB960 head x12, PB960 battery x10
sorry, no stupid speedlite from Canon !

I suspect he's dead wrong. Otherwise, why would the V860 II have master/slave functionality at all?

The V860 II C owners manual says: "Fully support Canon E-TTL II camera flash. Workable as Master or Slave unit in a wireless flash group."

I do not yet have my own V860 II (for Nikon). However, I just received my CL-360X units from Cheetah (same as the AD360 II, and has the same radio control system as the V860 II), and I can confirm a master unit will trigger another CL-360X as well as a CL-360X.

Sounds like he's not done his homework on Godox' new line of 2.4GHz radio flashes :)

Just completed some testing at Cheetahstand HQ yesterday! One Nikon shooter with X1T-N, One canon shooter with X1T-C and One Sony shooter with X1T-s with their respective camera.
We also had one Cheetahlight CL600x. It was really awesome to witness this one strobe registering on screen the brand of camera each shooter was using each time a shot was taken, one after another. The X1T is really a game changer heck
this whole system is a game changer.

Happy Shooting:lol:

With the Sony X1Ts the hot shoe on top is a single pin device. That means that a speedlite placed in the hot shoe has to be in slave mode so that it can be controlled by the X1Ts via the radio link.

It may be, I haven't tried either the Canon or Nikon variants, that if you want to use the X1Tc/n as a controller then its necessary to place the speedlite in the hot shoe into slave mode. From a control standpoint that makes sense. Even if the speedlite uses the hot shoe control points for TTL communication the speedlite has to be in Slave mode.

That's what's interesting about this. What he was told by this rep may actually work. But I suppose the question is: Do you actually NEED to do it this way with the V860 II. Based on what I'm seeing thus far from the X Series (the X1T-N, the CL-360X-N, and the CL-600X) you can simply seat the V860 II into the hot shoe and use it a true radio master without need for the X1 transmitter at all.

You can use the V860II/V860X/ad360II/CL-360X as a master in the hotshoe of the camera. You can run a V860II/V860X/ad360II/CL-360X in the X1 hotshoe, but it has to be set as a slave since hot shoe is not a true pass thru.

Yes, that is the questions, if we should mount X1 that would be homework keeping the flash steady on top of XT1 for rough situations

If you're doing communications with Godox,
would you ask them, when they gonna improve their cable materials in the future ?
I already discovered more than 10 broken cables even the new socket models,
I always, always, always have another spare cables and always bring spare cables for work

It funny I never have any problems with my cables since mid 2012 with any of my units and I use mine everyday. Your the only person that ever seams to complains about the cables, but never seen any images.

You can't see anything about the cable that is broken. It is not literal broken but it won't power the flash any more and you have to get out a fresh cable to continue. I have only the first model of the cables and I have made my own ones with a straight cable because they are lighter. The connectors are molded so change to repair them or to look what is going wrong.

Does this functionality exist in existing Godox/Cheetahstand strobes? I have an Adorama StreakLight 360 for Canon and an X1T-C. I recently purchased a Sony A7RII and would love to be able to purchase the X1T-S to operate the StreakLight, but someone on another forum said that the StreakLight 360 for Canon and the X1T-S are not compatible because they talk on different frequencies of the 2.4Ghz band.

You will need the new XTR16 USB receiver for your 360.

Depends upon which generation of StreakLight 360 you have. Does yours have an integrated transceiver, or does it need to have a receiver inserted via the USB port?

If the former, then you should be able to simply get an X1T-S for Sony once firmware for the flash is updated, allowing for communication with Canon, Nikon AND Sony transmitters.
