I recently bought a desk to support my new 24" monitor. I am having trouble deciding how to organize it and thought maybe some of you would like to share photos of your desks. Maybe we all can learn something. "Oh, that is a neat way to store your pens!" "Hey, that's a neat way to conduct cable management!" and so on. Maybe I'm just thinking out loud here!

I'm not a "clean desk" kind of guy, so you definitely don't want a shot of it - ouldn't see the wood for the mountain of paper!

There is a thread somewhere that is named something along "show your computer desk" or similar. That might help you too.

This thread can be a new start :)

There is one long one about screen desktops: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=566454

One other called "Show me your dual monitor (and desk) setup" in https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=838846

I won't post mine as it is so messy (with a cat sleeping on it, too) :)

.
I'm afraid to let the world see my messy desk. But I'm not afraid to tell the world about it:

First there's the computer, then there are the bird books and wildlife guides....and of course a few fairly recent magazines. Then the dirty dishes (I eat at my computer). Then, grossest of all, the ointments and anti-infectants that I have been using on my horribly infected foot, as well as the hydrogen peroxide and the tupperware container that I soak the foot in. And the soiled bandages that just haven't found their way to the trash can yet. And a few fossils - Lapis Lazuli and coper ore, at the moment. And a fossilized claw from a Romanian Cave Bear. And some unopened envelopes that have some tax-related stuff in them. Sheesh, that reminds me - I should've done the taxes weeks ago.

Anyway, half my life is crammed onto the surface that is my desk top. And the stuff that won't fit on the desk just kinda gets draped and plopped all over the rest of the house. Things in here are not very photogenic.

Not to mention Scrat, as well. Do he and the cat get along?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I am buying my first house in two weeks, but here is the current setup in my little apartment. This is before I got my new computer, 27" 4k monitor, monitor riser, and keyboard/mouse. I will post up some more photos in a few weeks once I am all moved in and my new office is complete. I will also be moving to a wooden L desk if I can find one I like in a reasonable price range. Not sure where the custom racecar computer chair and engine block desk will go. Maybe in a spare bedroom or something. The blocks still need to be painted silver anyways.

And a few shots of building the desk.

I'm not bashful... My desk is a mess. camera crap all over it... charger cords a mess behind the bags, each shelf has some kind of camera something...

I have a dedicated cabinet but it's getting full. I'm running out of space :(
