HERE (external link) is an evaluation I wrote based on my initial testing of the Godox TT685s and AD600TTL (XPLOR600TTL). Adorama shipped the XPLOR600TTL units even though the X1Ts and remotes that were part of the pre-order were not available.
That permitted me to do some testing using the TT685s as the controller for the 600s.

Nicely done! I may need to read it a couple of times. Though not a long review, it's dense with info, so it'll make a good read for those who like to take their time with these things. I know from experience how much work goes into these, so I appreciate the hard work and detail you put into this. I've already let a few of my Sony-shooting buddies know about your blog post. :-)

One quick note: What you refer to in the review as the "TT860II" is actually called by Godox the V860 II (currently in Canon and Nikon variants).

Thanks for the info about the 860. I'll make sure I get it corrected.

I hate reading long rambling evaluations that have a lot of hyperbole masquerading as information. I try to keep notes as I go along, then just clean up the structure to make it readable.

Hopefully, next week, I'll get a chance to do some test shots outside with something, or someone, other than Manny as the subject.

Has anyone updated firmware on the AD600 yet? In another thread someone reported inability to do so despite having had no problem with AD360II and X1Ts.

Very simple if you follow the instructions. Remove the battery hold the power button for 2 sec then plug in the micro usb. Hope he didn't break the micro usb pins. I guess he would know if he shakes the 600 and heard a rattle noise.
It install just fine on both my ttl and manual versions
