Is it possible to change the aperture on the 6D while in video mode? Everytime I change it, I have to go into picture mode and than back again.

Yes,

Press Q, change aperture. Obviously that will effect the video, you touching and changing things.

This is why a lot of videographers have manual aperture lenses that can go from F1.4 to F16 smoothly, just like manual focusing.

Very best,

I dont understand, if you really are in Manual Mode (Mode dial on "M") the rear dial should change the Aperture and the top dial should change shutter speed...
You should not need to access any menus to change these settings..even while actively recording.
This is the same on nearly every Canon model since the 5D2...

Some models have an option in the menu system to shoot movies in Manual mode, but those are typically the Rebel series as they only have a Movie mode position on the actual Mode dial and you have to access the menu to change it from Auto to Manual...

But from the 5D2 (maybe even farther back) every model works the same...for the most part.
Top dial for SS and back dial for Aperture...

If this is not working for you then there is something in your settings that needs to be changed, but I cannot think of anything (even in the Custom Functions) that would cause this "issue"..

i figured it would lock both picture and movie mode. So the fact I was able to change the aperture in one mode I didnt think it was locked. anyway. Thats everyone
