I asked a similar question in the sony thread and got no answer yet.
Is time lapse 4K or can you make it 4K during processing, also I will be using a Nikon D610 and a Sony A6000..

More info | Apr 25, 2016 09:53 | #3 If you are a shooting using a DSLR in "stills" mode for the timelapse then as long as your camera can record images with a long edge longer than 4096 pixels, you can crop and resize down the individual images to make 4K video without any quality loss. That's as long as your editing software is capable of working with 4K.

My Sony A6000 and Nikon D610 both have built in time lapse?? Do they do 4K video at all? If they don't, they won't. If they do, you may have to look for the fine print in the manuals. But a quick look at their specs suggests they only do 1080p video. Jon

Apr 25, 2016 17:05 | #6 How does "built-in time-lapse" work? Does it produce a video file or is it just a mode for shooting a number of still images over time with settings for start and stop time and interval?

The D610, if I'm reading the manual right, creates the movie in-camera using the camera's current movie settings (hence 1080p max). I didn't look back at the A6000. Jon
