Well, it was after 7 pm, and the sky was cloudy. Sunset was around 7:40 pm I think. So I had shutter speed set at 1/1250, the minimum I consider usable for eagles fishing, which resulted in ISO ranging from 3200-12,800. I was just using the 1.4III extender, alhough the 2X would have been better as the eagle was fishing the far side of the bay. Ah well, what can you do but try? In these shots, the sun was behind clouds, setting to our left.

8. ISO 3200 Seems like a lot of work for such a small fish!

Well done, Ian. That first one especially is quite dramatic. I'm sure you've got noise, bu I'm also sure I can't see it from here. Great job.

Five figure iso shots should be ugly, but think you bent the rules here a bit, Ian. Very nice shooting. Curious about the aperture setting?

Thanks Al, I did have to use selective noise reduction.

Thanks Rog. I had it at f/8, forgetting that I had the 1.4 and not the 2x extender on, so I could have gone down to f/5.6, had I remembered :p
